Classified-ish · Case 001 · Lead investigator: Radar

The Incident That Hasn't Happened Yet

The alert arrived at 8:04 a.m. It was stamped 8:04 a.m. tomorrow.

01 / The Incident

Radar printed the alert and laid it beside the coffee machine. The Rabbit circled the date in red, then circled the circle. Johnny Five asked for the original event record, the system clock, and the timezone. Rabbit asked whether the future accepted meeting invitations.

02 / The Evidence Has Questions

Harbormaster discovered that a test system had been configured with tomorrow's date. Mad Hatter proposed that Tuesday was simply running early. Black Knight asked why a test alert had been forwarded to the production incident channel. No one enjoyed that question.

03 / An Inconvenient Explanation

The team corrected the clock, labeled the alert as test data, and documented the routing mistake. Rabbit kept his time-travel diagram because it had taken forty minutes and excellent string.

JOHNNY FIVE'S EVIDENCE NOTE

Check event provenance, clock settings, timezones and routing before declaring an incident. A future timestamp does not establish a future event.

Fictional story. Real investigative principle. Not a client audit or factual incident report.
